Product Description
INODA+SVEJE created the Tangāli Dining Chair with the intention of making a big and spacious dining chair. In addition to the version with woven cane seating, they decided to design a version with an upholstered seat for high traffic environments and for customers who preferred a softer seating experience. The backrest retains the signature wraparound cane pattern of the Tangāli Collection.
Just like the cane seat version, the upholstered version comes in two variants—with arms and without—and can be used as a dining chair or as a desk chair at a study table. Its curved backrest makes it comfortable to sit on for long periods of time.
The seat upholstery seen in the images is in the light cream ‘Andaman Moonbeam’ cotton-linen fabric, but can also be ordered in any of the colours from the cotton-linen blended Andaman fabric family or in COM (Customer’s Own Material).

Product Options
We offer this product in a choice of two wood finishes: Natural Teak and Dark Stain.
The Natural Teak finish provides the clearest expressions of the timber’s character, while the Dark Stain finish—custom-developed by Phantom Hands—gives the wood a deeper, richer tone while preserving the clarity of the grain.
In both finishes, the stain is applied after hand-sanding with progressively finer grits of sandpaper. The Natural Teak is finished with a hard wax oil that brings out the natural, golden-brown colour of the teak. The Dark Stain is finished with a three-coat application of compatibility-tested hydro-oil.
The Tangāli cane weave, specially developed by INODA+SVEJE for this collection, is a unique weave with double strands of cane wrapped around the edges of the wooden frame of the products.
The seat upholstery can be ordered in any colour from the cotton-linen blended Andaman fabric family, or in COM (Customer’s Own Material).
