Product Description
Originally designed for No.11, 33rd Lane—the city home and centre of architect Geoffrey Bawa’s social and work life in Colombo—this side table was placed alongside the No. 11 Sofa on the ground floor. It features a marble-tiled top set in a timber frame, supported by a wrought iron stand. Bawa’s practice designed several similar tables for various residential and hotel projects.
The re-edition by Phantom Hands is true to the dimensions of the original found at No. 11, 33rd Lane. The wrought iron has been replaced with stainless steel for added durability. The marble stone tiles used for the tabletop are leftover offcuts from TAB SURFACES, one of India’s leading stone processing companies, and bring an element of upcycling and sustainability into the table’s production.

We offer this piece in three finishes: Natural Teak, Dark Stain, and Y4 Light Walnut.
For all three finishes, the wood is first hand-sanded with progressively finer grits of sandpaper, after which the waterborne stain or paint is applied. The Natural Teak is finished with a hard wax oil that brings out the golden-brown colour of the teak. The Dark Stain, and Y4 Light Walnut, are both finished with a three-coat application of compatibility-tested hydro-oil.
