Product Description
“The Nandi Collection was designed around the idea of functional objects that create a sense of calm,” says designer Klemens Grund. The Nandi lamps embody this idea through clean shapes and forms, and selected materials like fine cotton and teak wood.
Grund’s choice of material for the shade was carefully considered. The single piece of fine cotton fabric, stretched across the wooden frame and hand-stitched along the edges, does for Indian textiles what Japanese lamps do for paper—it allows its fineness to shine through. The fabric shade is secured to the frame with carefully crafted, removable dowel pins that allow access for bulb changes when required.
When lit, the lamps interweave function and atmosphere. The light provides illumination, and the circular inner structure frames it, creating the illusion of gentle sunrises and sunsets. For those looking to regulate the intensity of the light, the lamps can also be fitted with a dimmer at an additional cost.
The Nandi lamps are available in two sizes: a smaller one for bedside tables, desks, or nooks in open shelves; and this larger one that can either be used as a low floor lamp, or be paired with the smaller one for larger surfaces.
