Armless Lounge Chair (Kangaroo Chair)
The Armless Lounge Chair or Kangaroo Chair is a low chair made of two parallel flowing Z shaped assemblies that form the leg and back frame. The back of the chair is gently bowed with cane lattice seat and back. Our re-edition of the Kangaroo Chair is true to the proportions and dimensions of the chairs made for Chandigarh, some of which are still in use in public buildings.

The Kangaroo Chair was used in private residences and the General Hospital reception area in Chandigarh. Several versions of this chair were made in Chandigarh in the 1950s and 60s. Some had sharp angular corners and some were more rounded. The size and materials used also varied – they were made with either sisoo (North Indian Rosewood) or teak.
